Jesus and You Are The Light of the World

Scripture: John 12:36; Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV)

John 12:36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons [daughters] of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.

Matt 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Introduction:The word “Light” is first used in the Bible when God speaks it in the Creation of the world in Genesis 1:3, and God said the Light was “Good”. Today we will look at that Good Light of Jesus Christ as we enter into the early days of 2026!

Message Outline: Jesus & You are the Light of the world!

Eph: 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light NKJV

1 Thes. 5:5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.

4. Lastly, decide to obey Jesus: ________________________________________________________

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” NKJV
